This will be a type of arguments of evaluations that we need to express a judgement / opinion about something. In this case, the criteria used might be the quality of education, expertise of the faculty, resources offered or available, students academic performance and employment opportunities…
The other types of argumentative essay are: proposal, definition, fact and cause and effect.. The above example can be transformed into cause and effect too based on the writer’s personal experiences.
I am required to prepare a teaching journal, the Argument Map Model…
– choose a text
– find the claim
– look for background context
– search for supporting evidence
– identify the reasoning…
The newspapers cuttings provide the prompts. The process of writing: context: I am writing about higher education in Malaysia. Why? Because not everyone has the opportunity .. Who will be the audience of my writings?
Task: what are the required elements of the essay?
